Privacy policy

This policy explains what Seoul Speak Academy does with the information you share through this website. It applies to this site and to inquiries sent by email.

What we collect

When you use the enrollment form, we collect only what is needed to reply and arrange lessons:

  • Your name.
  • Your email address.
  • Your preferred contact method.
  • Your Korean level, class preference, and main learning goal.
  • Your preferred schedule and time zone.
  • Any optional message or questions you choose to write.

We do not ask for payment details through this website, and you should never send card numbers by email.

Why we collect it

We use this information for one purpose: to answer your inquiry and, if you choose to enroll, to arrange your classes and schedule. We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box before submitting the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us.

Where it goes

Form submissions are delivered to the academy's email inbox through FormSubmit, a form-relay service that passes the message on to that inbox. The website itself does not store your details in a database. Your information is not sold, rented, or shared for advertising.

Our email provider, and Google Meet, the platform used for classes, will process messages and lesson links as part of delivering the service. Those providers have their own privacy terms.

Cookies and analytics

This website sets no tracking cookies and runs no advertising or behavioural analytics. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests files from Google's servers when you visit; Google may receive your IP address as part of that request.

How long we keep it

Inquiries are kept while we are in contact and, if you enroll, for as long as you are a student. If you ask us to delete your information and we have no ongoing obligation to keep it, we will delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email seoul.speak.academy@gmail.com and we will respond. You may also have rights under your local data protection law, including the right to complain to your local authority.

Age

Classes are intended for learners aged 16 and over. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us on your behalf.

Terms of use

By using this website you agree to use it lawfully and not to attempt to disrupt it, submit false information, or use the enrollment form for spam or unsolicited advertising.

Information on this site — lesson content, sample phrases, pricing, and class descriptions — is provided for general information and may be updated. Prices shown are the current published offers. Nothing on this site guarantees a particular learning outcome, and no fixed timeline for fluency is promised.

Lesson materials, site copy, and the Seoul Speak Academy name and logo remain the property of the academy. You're welcome to use the sample phrases for your own learning; please don't republish the teaching materials as your own.

Payment, attendance & cancellation

Class fees are $150 per four-week course for small-group Korean and $300 per four-week course for private Korean. Each course runs for four consecutive weeks with no planned break: three two-hour live classes a week, 12 classes and 24 live hours in total, taught online on Google Meet.

Payment is accepted by Wise or PayPal. Full payment is due before the four-week course begins.

Classes start inside one of three available windows, all in Korea Standard Time (KST, UTC+9):

  • 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM KST
  • 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM KST
  • 10:00 PM – 12:00 AM KST

These are available windows, not guaranteed bookings. Your exact class days are agreed in writing before you pay.

Before you make any payment, you receive in writing:

  • The exact class days and times, inside your chosen window.
  • The first and last date your fee covers.
  • The payment method and the due date.
  • How to join the classes on Google Meet.

Your enrollment confirmation is the binding record of these terms. If anything in it is unclear, ask before paying.

Missing a class

Student absences are not eligible for make-up classes. If you cannot attend a class, tell us in writing as early as you can, but the class that runs is the class you get.

Cancelling

If you need to stop or change a course, contact us in writing at seoul.speak.academy@gmail.com. Any change to the remaining classes is confirmed in writing before it takes effect, so you always know where you stand.

Group classes & minimum enrollment

Our small-group Korean classes are limited to a maximum of three students, so everyone has the opportunity to participate and practise speaking.

Classes can run with two or three students. We do not require all three places to be filled, so you do not need to wait for a full group to begin learning.

If only one student has enrolled by the planned start date, we will contact you before the course begins to discuss the available options.

Your class schedule and start date will be confirmed with you before payment.

Changes to these policies

If these policies change, the updated version will appear on this page with a new "last updated" date. Changes do not apply retroactively to a class period you have already paid for.

Questions about any of this? Email seoul.speak.academy@gmail.com. Ask before you pay — we would rather explain than have you guess.
